More Poetry

I went through a ton of horrific bullying growing up, and it's really left its mark on me.  The following two poems, however, are about how well I'm doing now.  That said, their titles refer back to childhood.

Take That

To win an award
Is to step to the front,
All looking at you--
Don't mess up your dress!

To win an award
Is to pause for a picture,
All of the eyes
Reflected in yours.

To win an award
Is to glimpse the potential
Of journeys unfolding
And dreams yet unlived.

To win...
To win an award.

Take That Part II

"Save a life, and you have saved the world."
But what is in that world?
In that world is a FRIEND.

Someone to laugh with,
Someone to love with;
Someone to cry with,
Someone to hate with.

And someone
Who fiercely
Loves you back.

"Save a life, and you have saved the world."
A world full of friendship,
Second chances,
And love.

About Me

My photo
I am a bipolar, Jewish young adult (had my Hebrew birthday, the one I count, and turned 23 this past January) who also suffers from Reflex Sympathetic Dystrophy. I love life and I live for my best friends: they are my purpose and my reason for trying so hard. I remain passionately devoted to those I love; I will not let my disorders make me totally self-centered. I like to read, write, and sew. My Rabbinical school plans did not work out, and I am now hoping to go into the field of Early Childhood Education. Please note: I am currently maintaining only Carried in His Hands. Enjoy!
